Alopecia areata

Clinical picture

Alopecia areata is a form of non-scarring alopecia of autoimmune origin. Hair loss always occurs in a localized area of the body.

The size is generally small and round. In the affected area the skin looks normal, it is not inflamed or reddened, there are no scales either.

Evolution is unpredictable. Sometimes hair grows back by itself.

In cases where alopecia areata appears associated with celiac disease, treatment with a gluten-free diet usually allows for complete and permanent recovery, with hair growth lost.

The most frequent treatments are topical, such as minoxidil solutions to 2% or 5%, corticosteroid creams or shampoos.

What is psoriasis?

Psoriasis is a chronic, inflammatory disease that manifests clinically by redness, thickening, scales, and itchy skin. It is caused by autoimmune factors where an abnormal increase in T cells and cytokines are observed.

On the other hand, there is an excessive increase in the production of keratinocytes that leads to excessive thickening of the skin (hyperkeratosis).

The thickening of the psoriatic skin is due to an increase in the production of keratinocytes. In normal skin, keratinocytes reproduce and flake in 28 days, this process in psoriatic skin is completed only in 4 days.

This leads to the production of thick plates and abundant scales. The PALLAS Laser produces APOPTOSIS in psoriatic plaques. Apoptosis is a form of programmed cell death. An abnormal increase in:

Phototherapy - Efficient treatment for psoriasis

Vitiligo

Clinical picture

Side effects
